Customer Service Representative – Technical Support

• Must have a broad working knowledge of performance and/or race engines and components to provide technical sales support, both on the phone and in-person customer visits.
• Assists customers and teams in selecting the proper MAHLE products.
• Directs and oversees performance piston and related component development projects from the design phase through the production phase. This requires handling the necessary correspondence and customer contacts related to the application and sales duties of the assigned accounts.  It also includes general administration duties as well as special assignments as needed.
• Communicates customer requirements to Design and Engineering, and likewise provides feedback from Engineering to the customer.
• Negotiates terms and pricing with customers. Must likewise follow-up/communicate with customers to clear pending account issues.
• Provides customer service for warehouse distributors and dealers.
• Utilizes SAP interface for all basic Sales functions; sales orders, production requests, stock checks, order tracking, returns & credits.
• Field inbound customer service related calls; coordinating with either Warehouse or Production as required.
• Responsible for customer inventories and component ordering and tracking.
• Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively on a variety of technical subjects with audiences of varied technical skill, background and personality.
• Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions as needed to stay appraised of new developments in field. In turn, must likewise prepare and present pertinent information for meetings, seminars and training sessions.
• Prepares reports concerning departmental activities as required.
• Travels periodically to other MAHLE locations as needed, as well as customer sites, customer scheduled meetings and trade shows.
• Relocation required to Fletcher, North Carolina

Your Skills and Strengths

• Associates degree from college or technical school; or six to ten years related experience and/or training in the performance aftermarket; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of motorsports industry and automotive engines, components and applications.
• Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Power Point); SAP training provided.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Systematic working methods, self-motivation, flexibility and good time management are required for the fast paced environment in the performance industry.
