SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE Plans and designs manufacturing processes in the industrial plant. Leads the engineering department in the planning and designing of manufacturing processes at the manufacturing plant. Drives efficiency improvements by utilizing the latest techniques/tools in the industry. Analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization. Instills a can-do attitude in the engineering department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for engineering operations.
Lead new product introduction (NPI) from concept through launch, ensuring optimal process selection and on-time delivery to customer requirements.
Establish engineering standards for design, manufacturing methods, machine selection, gating systems, and cost-effective value-added decisions.
Drive cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure efficient, manufacturable, and scalable tooling and processes.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics.
Oversee PFMEA development, risk mitigation strategies, and process validation to ensure robust and repeatable manufacturing performance.
Ensure full compliance and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, including oversight of non-conforming materials, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
Oversee warranty claims, product returns, and rework activities to ensure timely resolution and prevent recurrence
Govern engineering documentation and controls, including CAD standards, tooling and fixturing prints, CNC program verification, and production documentation implementation.
Lead capital and manufacturing improvement initiatives, including research, justification, budgeting input, reporting, and coordination with senior leadership.
Monitor and drive engineering KPIs to ensure production efficiency, product quality, cosmetic standards, and on-time launch performance.
Maintain regular and dependable attendance and on-site leadership presence to support plant operations and team development.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an office setting with occasional shop walkabouts. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Employee is exposed to Foundry atmospheric conditions such as fumes or airborne particles, noise, extreme weather, vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Note, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when entering the plant to include ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel toe boots. Disposable masks are optional.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. Although mostly a sedentary role, occasional standing and walking is required. Additionally, incumbent must use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering
9+ years of experience
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures with the aluminum casting and machining field.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering
10+ years of engineering experience in aluminum casting and machining
Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives in a high-volume automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
